I would like to share with you my aims for 2011/12.

Membership is the key focus for us. As we all retire from Table at the age of 45, we ALL need to continually look for new members.

Traditionally the Area Chairman has been the figurehead inside the organisation. My view is that at Area level we now need to look externally.

Yes, we are there to support the individual Tables, and we will do that. And yes, we will co-ordinate sporting events, and organise a couple of social events. But we need to engage with non Tablers and encourage them to join individual Tables.

So we have a series of press and social media campaigns which will reach out to our target audience. Also, we aim to start a new Round Table in Burnley. We have a number of guys interested, and we are inviting them to events locally they start meeting themselves.

This won't be easy, but I know if we persevere we will be successful.
